Small Character Inkjet Coders
Small character inkjet coders are used for marking bottles with
expiration dates and/or batch or lot numbers They are also
integrated into labeling machines to print codes on labels.
Small character ink jet coders
generally print codes that are not much higher than 1/8". The
capability of a small character inkjet coder can be as little as a
single line and as many as 4 lines.
Another aspect of small character ink
jet coders to consider is the types of inks that they can run.
For instance our economy models run only alcohol or water based inks
which limits the range of materials they can successfully code. Our
premium models can run a much wider range of inks, including MEK
(methyl ethyl ketone) based inks which are classified as an
hazardous chemical, but is very effective if you need quick drying
and adhesion.
This is why careful evaluation of
your products is important. If you do not wish to have
exposure to chemicals like MEK (and that is all that will work), you
may need to consider other packaging materials that can accept less
hazardous ink formulations for use with your ink jet coder.
Please send your samples to Busch
Machinery and we will test them to ensure the right inkjet coder
solution.

There is a considerable
difference in costs between economy and premium inkjet coders.
The reasons for this are numerous, but basically it is all about
the ink delivery and the ink itself. Premium ink jet
coders can use inks that are much faster drying so they need
more controls to keep the nozzles clean. This does not mean that
economy models are bad, just that the range of applications is
much more limited. |
