Uniform Carton Sealers
Carton Sealers are manufactured in a
variety of configurations suitable for your needs. Uniform
carton sealers are the most commonly used on production lines since
each carton is the same size as the previous carton. These carton
sealers change over very easily from one size to another in a matter
of a couple minutes and are available in automatic and
semi-automatic versions.
Random Carton Sealers
Random Carton Sealers are ideal for
order picking operations where the size of the carton varies from
carton to carton. These carton sealers automatically adjust to the
size of each carton as it is presented. They are available in
Semi-Automatic and Automatic versions. Random carton sealers
run much slower and cost a lot more than Uniform carton sealers
because of the extra mechanisms that adjust the machine individually
for each carton.

Automatic vs. Semi-Automatic
Carton Sealers
Semi-Automatic Carton Sealers are
useful for lower speed production lines where the packer has time to load
the carton with product, fold the flaps, and push the carton into
the carton sealer. Generally speaking if a second person is required
to keep up with production, it is time to think about an Automatic
Carton sealer.
The big difference between an
Automatic Carton Sealer and a Semi-Automatic Carton Sealer is the
addition of the flap folding mechanism and the added length to
accommodate it. When the carton enters the carton sealer the forward
flap is knocked down, the mechanism then knocks down the trailing
flap, and finally the side flaps are folded by folding bars. The
pictures to the right do a pretty good job of illustrating the
difference.
